The I2C switch board enables a toggle switch to be interfaced with the Qwiic connect system. It utilizes an Atmel ATtiny841 to process information from the switch, which makes it an excellent low-power device. Wiring simplification: The Qwiic connect system reduces wiring complexity. A toggle switch would use 2 wires, compared to the single cable needed to use the I2C switch board.
